Hello! I’m James, The Ph.D. student of the lab! Outside of lab work and classes, I spend my time playing board and video games, biking, reading, and woodworking. I studied the sciences at Greenville University in Illinois, and am thrilled to be starting my research career in such an exciting place.

Stephanie Pozuelos

Hello, I am an Undergraduate Research Technician in the lab and a fourth-year student at Indiana University Indianapolis studying biomedical informatics with minors in biology, chemistry, and public health. Previously, I interned in a human malaria research lab for a year. I also participated in a summer research program where I studied the effects of light pollution on reproduction in Culex pipiens, the mosquito that transmits West Nile virus. In the future, I hope to earn a PhD in microbiology or infectious disease epidemiology. In my free time, I like to play tennis, watch soccer, and travel!

Henry Giesel (Alumnus)

I am an undergraduate intern from Wabash College majoring in Biology with a chemistry minor and want to pursue a Ph.D in biology. In my free time, I like to play soccer and love to play board games. I have previously done research studying signaling pathways in C. elegans and antimicrobial activity found in bacteria, but this is my first experience working with any virus!
